Cuban food--gluten free and delicious in New York City

I have missed Cuban food since I moved from Miami in 1989 so I could not pass up a chance for some at Victor’s Café. Cuban menus abound in black beans, rice, grilled meat and sautéed plantains (my addiction), all of which are safe for the gluten intolerant. Victor’s served us a wonderful meal reminiscent of Miami Cuban cuisine at its best.

Gluten free, great service, and excellent seafood at restaurant in NYC

We had an excellent meal at Ocean Grill. After I described how gluten sensitive I am, Molly, the hostess, had Chef John Lictro come out to talk to me. He made sure I had a safe delicious meal of scallops with spinach—healthy and tasty. The service and ambience were as good as the food.

a place to celebrate while eating gluten-free in Newport Beach, CA

Visiting Newport Beach on vacation, I hoped there was a nearby restaurant that offered good gluten free dining. Luckily, we found Roy's which has a large gluten free menu with multiple appetizer, entree and dessert choices. The food was delectable, the service and ambience upscale. And my dessert was a fabulous molten chocolate cake with whipped cream. Of course, we went back for a second dinner (and dessert!)

Scrumptious and safe gluten-free barbecue restaurant in Costa Mesa, California

It was SO enjoyable to sit down to a menu where both dairy and gluten allergens were marked for each dish AND there were so many choices with neither. As we enjoyed our own meal--terrific ribs and sides of potato salad and coleslaw, eaten in perfect safety--we watched a family with 3 children consult with the server. Their delight as they found out that their gluten and/or dairy intolerant children could enjoy most of the menu items was a pleasure to see. Definitely worth a return visit.

What a delightful experience: dining at a lovely upscale restaurant with a large gluten free menu encompassing multiple appetizer and entree choices (5 of each) plus a fabulous dessert: hot chocolate souffle a la mode. Added to this were servers who totally understood gluten free--my evening was perfect. Discovering Roy's in Newport Beach really made our vacation special and we went back for a second dinner with the same great food and service. Can't wait to return.
