Nice dinner at French bistro in London with gluten free options, Dec 26, 2013
reviewer: Gftraveler from South Riding, VA
We had a nice meal here on Christmas day. We had been looking forward to their Christmas Menu, which many London restaurants seem to offer during the Christmas season. However, this particular restaurant wasn't offering it on Christmas Day. They had their regular (extensive) menu available and also the option of roasted turkey.

Three out of four of us got steaks, which came with fries. The steaks were gluten free, although if you go to this restaurant and want one of the sauces they offer on your steak, check to make sure it's gluten free. Some are not. The fries are gluten free and cooked in a dedicated fryer. We also ordered a side of French beans. Our son chose a gluten free dessert option: vanilla ice cream with warm chocolate sauce. The restaurant also has a creme brûlée on the dessert menu, which I believe was also gluten free.

The service was a bit disjointed when we were there -- we had several different servers throughout the evening. But the manager and servers seemed to know what was gluten free -- and if they had a question, they called down to the chef (the kitchen was in the lower level of the restaurant, and we were sitting upstairs).

I can recommend this restaurant if you are interested in ordering a steak, chicken, or even fish. It's best to check with your server or the manager regarding specific preparations, however, since we were told many of their sauces are thickened with flour. There is no gluten free menu, per se.

This is a great location right near St. Paul's Cathedral, and they have many other locations throughout London.
