|Word is that many Starbucks locations in London (and the UK in general) have gluten free options. We stopped at the one near the Tower of London yesterday to get some beverages, and we noticed this pre-made gluten free ham and cheese sandwich in the refrigerated case (wrapped, so no chance of cross-contamination, at least in the store). I also asked about gluten free baked goods, since there were none on display. The woman said they had some individually wrapped gluten free brownies they keep out of the case (in a refrigerator). Yeah! I asked if all Starbucks have these options, and she thought they usually do, but for the brownies at least, you have to ask (good thing they don't keep them alongside the other regular baked goods, even though they are individually wrapped). The only downside is that most people (at least tourists) don't even think to ask -- they probably just assume that, like the Starbucks in the U.S., they don't have any options. But I'm happy to say that they do, so ask! There are Starbucks all over London, and they also offer free WiFi. It is one of the few "Free WiFi" places we are able to connect, because it seems Starbucks re-routes its AT&T customers to BT WiFi. Smart for getting business from American tourists!
