Vancouver restaurant is gluten free friendly, Apr 03, 2015
reviewer: GFTS from
Edible Canada on Granville Island in Vancouver is more than just a restaurant. It is an entity that encourages people to explore Canada through its food, by offering a variety of events, including tours and trips. They have a store next to the bistro where prepackaged Canadian food products are available for purchase in store or online. Also of note, this establishment participates with Mealshare and provides a meal to a person in need when certain menu items are ordered. Edible Canada serves brunch, lunch, and dinner, and offers a large selection of gluten free dishes. Some of them include: Hazelmere Hash with root vegetables, crispy potatoes, kale, bacon, and farm fresh eggs; Pacific fish and chips; beet borscht; Mariner's Fish Pie with cod, salmon, potato, peas, and corn; and Alberta Bison flat iron with potato puree, grilled raab, and Saskatoon berry. For dessert there is a chocolate eggplant brownie or a dessert drink of coffee and whiskey cream. There are two Canadian gluten free beer options on the drink menu - the Whistler Forager Lager and Glutenberg Red Ale. The kitchen at this establishment is not a dedicated gluten free kitchen. Notify your server of your allergies/dietary requirements. The staff takes precautions while preparing food, but cannot guarantee purity. Cross contamination may occur. Gluten Free Options at Bistro in Vancouver, Sep 22, 2014
reviewer: GFTS from
Edible Canada, located across from the Public Market on Granville Market, is a full service bistro that focuses on Canadian cuisine. They mark their gluten free items on their regular menu with a small grain symbol.

They are not a 100% gluten free facility, but they do their best to prevent cross contamination. However, they cannot guarantee it, and they ask that you inform servers of your gluten sensitivity when ordering. Their gluten free menu items span a variety of starters, mains, and sides such as squash soup, albacore tuna, pork chop, and fritters.
