Gluten free options at deli in Lake Placid, Jul 28, 2015
reviewer: Gftraveler from South Riding, VA
We were so happy to read the review of this deli here on GlutenFreeTravelSite. We had just arrived in town and needed to grab a fairly quick lunch. There was a very long line even at 1:00 pm, but it was worth the wait. This place has many homemade options for bread and rolls (if you're not gluten free), and they also offer sandwiches on Glutino bread for gluten free customers. All of their lunch meats are gluten free, and there are many sandwich combinations. Our son just wanted something simple -- ham and cheese with mustard and mayo on gluten free bread. They use squeeze bottles for the mustard and mayo, so there's no double-dipping cross contamination to worry about. They change their gloves prior to making gluten free orders on a piece of paper on a clean surface. Our son said it was the best sandwich he's ever had and had no issues afterward. There are many breakfast options here, too, and I'm sure you could order various types of eggs, omelettes, and egg sandwiches on the Glutino bread, too. They also have many coffee beverages and interesting cocktails. A really great spot for anyone gluten free (or not) in Lake Placid!! They are only open until 4 pm. However, they have another new location (called Simply Gourmet) at 2099 Saranac Avenue in Lake Placid. They are open from 7 am to 6 pm.
