Be alert about gluten free dining at this college in Saratoga Springs, NY, Mar 17, 2016
reviewer: Joanie from Saratoga Springs, New York, USA
The dining facility is a BIG buffet with many individual food stations. I went to the Italian food station where I was informed that gluten free pasta was available and the Alfredo sauce was also gluten free, so, that is what I ordered. I became really ill even before leaving the premises. I realized, afterwards, that the cook was not wearing gloves! I would not recommend this facility.

Gluten Free options at Skidmore College dining services, Jan 09, 2012
reviewer: Julie from Skidmore
I was very impressed with Skidmore's dining services. All of the chefs were very knowledgable about Celiac and careful about cross contamination. There is a salad bar called "Emily\'s Garden" that always has gluten-free options. I worked with Jim Rose, the director, who would order whatever gluten-free foods I requested that I was familiar with from home! They stock breads, bagels, muffins, frozen meals and pizzas, even ice cream cones... whatever you request! Some gluten free food options include: deli meats and dinner meats, salad bar, anything special that you request, fruit, yogurt-- oh and I forgot to mention that in the dining hall is a "test kitchen" or a small kitchen with a sink, stove, microwave, refridgerator and freezer. I kept my dry gluten free goods in a basket labeled with my name in a cubby section, and I kept breads and stuff frozen in there-- this kitchen is available for students with any special dietary needs. Overall, I was very impressed with Skidmore\'s dining hall. If you\'re gluten-free, this is a very safe place for you.
