NYC gluten free dining disappointment, Sep 08, 2013
reviewer: JazzyJo from Akron, OH
I was very disappointed in this highly recommended restaurant. I told them that I had Celiac Disease. They would not serve me anything except a farm-raised salmon--which I never eat--I prefer wild caught, with plain white rice and a black bean sauce. I knew that I could have eaten the salsa with it on the menu. If we hadn't had theater tickets and a short time line I would have left and taken my chances elsewhere an a Saturday. I think this is the mark of a chef who doesn't want to be bothered. Additionally, only one of the other 3 people in our party were happy with their food.

Cuban food--gluten free and delicious in New York City, Dec 29, 2011
reviewer: Norkoz from Seattle WA
I have missed Cuban food since I moved from Miami in 1989 so I could not pass up a chance for some at Victor’s Café. Cuban menus abound in black beans, rice, grilled meat and sautéed plantains (my addiction), all of which are safe for the gluten intolerant. Victor’s served us a wonderful meal reminiscent of Miami Cuban cuisine at its best.
