|I went to Tunisia, reluctantly, as I had just been diagnosed as coeliac and was worried about travelling abroad. My husband and I stayed at the Marhaba Beach hotel in Sousse, Tunisia. On arrival we spoke to the chef who was very up to date on food allergies, not just coeliac, they had a bulletin board with allergies etc, they also had food hygiene certificates on display which is quite unusual. The chef was very very helpful and all food on the buffet was labeled with ingredients and allergy advice. It was so good in fact that we are returning to the same hotel this year as it made my holiday worthwhile. My advice would be to speak to the chef on arrival and explain your circumstances, as nothing was a bother to them.
