Gluten Free Dining at the Bay Gardens Beach Resort St Lucia Aug 12, 2011
reviewer: Jk from England

We stayed at this hotel to get married. We told the resort prior to staying that my son aged 9 was a Coeliac and could not eat gluten and they got in touch with the Chef who said this would not be a problem. We were really pleased when we got there they arranged a meeting with the Chef he was really nice and helpful he catered for the wedding beautifully and incorporated my sons meal in to be Gluten free. I had taken some GF cake mix with us and requested that he make some cakes for my son so that my son would not be left out when we were eating the wedding cake, on the day the Chef turned out two beautiful wedding cakes - one for us and one which was GF for my son, we were delighted. All througout whatever meal we asked for to be made for my son was done perfectly without any problems. It made such a nice change to be able to eat out with our son without any problems if only all places could have this attitude!

Disneyland Paris not very good about gluten free dining options Aug 12, 2011
reviewer: Jk from France

We went on a family trip to Disneyland Paris, before we went we notified them of my sons Coeliac disease and we were told to book the allergy meals that they provide. This sounded great. However, these meals are like aeroplane meals - they come in plastic, they are extremely bland and poor quality and some of it resembled babyfood! - the desert was a small pot of plain purifed pear!! The meals were so tastless my son couldnt eat it and he is not a fussy eater at all. They were totally unsuitable for a child or even an adult. Disneyland Paris were really unhelpful and even rude when we asked for some alternatives. It did really ruin our holiday as we were constantly worrying about my sons food. My advice to anyone going with an allergy is try and take as much of your own stuff as you can or you might go hungry!!!
