Great Market in South Burlington, Vermont: A Gluten-Free Gal's Dream Dec 27, 2011
reviewer: Jesspiccirilli from Winooski, VT

As a Gluten-Free lover of all food, I couldn't feel more lucky to live so close to Healthy Living Market and Cafe. It truly is a dream come true for anyone with a restricted gluten-free diet and a must see for any foodie traveling to the Burlington area! The Market offers an unsurpassed Gluten-Free department with hundreds of gluten-free products. What's more, is that when you venture out of the specific gluten-free section, there are shelf talkers throughout the store that signify additional gluten- free products - which is a great feature for newly diagnosed celiacs trying to navigate their new diet as well as gals like me who have been living with gluten-free restrictions for years but are always on the lookout for great new products. The Market offers a learning center that offers cooking classes year-round. I've taken many classes in the Healthy Living Learning Center, and the instructors there have been more than accommodating to me and my diet without making me feel like a burden at all! The cafe and bakery are extra bonuses which seem to be getting increasingly better with time. The salad bar is full of beautiful fresh veggies and salad toppings. The hot bar offers plenty of gluten-free options - all labeled as such to make gluten-free dishes easier to identify. When available, the gluten-free pizza is not to be missed! My favorite feature in the cafe is the sandwich menu! Customers can order any sandwich from the menu on delicious house-made Gluten-Free bread! For dessert, I can choose from a plethora of desserts that change day to day but usually include gluten-free muffins, gluten-free cookies, macaroons, Creme brulee, gluten-free pies and flourless chocolate cake. I've traveled many places and am always on the lookout for gluten-free friendly places to eat and shop but I have yet to find a place so versatile as the Healthy Living Market and Cafe!
