If you were a celiac headed to a tailgate party at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, where would you stop to buy gluten free food? The answer of course is FESTIVAL FOODS, OPEN 24 HOURS on the east side of Appleton 3 blocks east of Highway 441. You have other choices, but none compare to the variety and selection of Festival. With a dedicated gluten free aisle, Festival Foods features fresh and frozen gluten free selections. The store is new, clean and well-lighted. Looking for gluten free pizza? They've got it. How about gluten free bread for an awesome tailgate sandwich? They've got it. How about gluten free pretzels? Yep. Any gluten free muffins, cakes, pies? Yes!! Crackers? Meat? Mac & Cheese? Yep, yep, yep!! They even carry gluten free beer , (Red Bridge), and gluten free alcoholic Cider, along with a good selection of wines. Customer service is equally impressive. It's always my first stop when I'm back in the area. So put your game face on and enjoy gluten free tailgating, in style with a "Cheesehead" smile!!

Woodman's Market May 06, 2008

The Woodman's Market Chain is employee owned and, as such, offers some of the very best selection, the lowest prices and superb customer service in the highly competitive grocery store business. A minor upfront note of caution however, they DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS; cash, check or ATM only, to keep prices low. That said, Woodman's offers a great selection of gluten free foods in a dedicated aisle with a co-located freezer of frozen gluten free breads, pizzas, etc. You'll find a wide variety of cookies, pastas, crackers, and mixes on the shelves without having to scour every aisle; a real convenience. The attached liquor store carries Budweiser's Red Bridge, a gluten free beer. Woodman's location on the west side of town close to Highway 41, makes it an easy stop if you're travelling through the area. If you're there on business, it's very close to major hotel chains. You'll also be impressed with their superb midwest customer service attitude!!

The Free Market is a wonderful little specialty grocery store featuring organic and gluten free products available both in the store and online. You will find an excellent selection of gluten free foods, both name brands and locally produced baked goods. Customer service is their hallmark. During my visits I noted numerous gluten free bread, cookies, cereals, baking/pancake mixes, crackers and a good selection of gluten free condiments. They are open 7 days a week and are conviently located just minutes from major highways in the area.

Panne Rizo, Cafe, Bakery, Deli, Vancouver BC Apr 03, 2008

Looking for the best gluten free food in Vancouver?? Check out Panne Rizo, an entirely gluten free bakery/deli/cafe in a residential neighborhood only minutes away from the major hotels in downtown Vancouver. I became aquainted with them when my wife and I travelled to Vancouver every year to run the Marathon. (The marathon route passes right in front of Panne Rizo). They make some of the very best gluten free pizzas, sandwiches, and desserts I've ever tasted in 21 years of being a Celiac. I initially discovered some of their wonderful products at Capers Market in Vancouver, then found their bakery/cafe the next day. In addition to Capers you can find their products in Whole Foods, Salt Spring Nature Works, or order online--they deliver to US addresses. The owners allow no contaminating grains in the kitchen and everything they make is gluten free. The variety and quality of all the gluten free food will put a wide smile on any celiac's face. Even my wife, (not a celiac), enjoys their healthy food and says she can't tell the difference. If you're headed to Vancouver, put Panne Rizo on your plans. You won't be disappointed!!
