Great Gluten Free Restaurant experience in Hilton Head, SC Jul 28, 2012
reviewer: Fireflymd from Long Island, NY

The food was so good here we went back a second time within the same week. We were seated both times in a delightful C-shaped booth, so that the four of us were facing each other (similar to being seated at a square table, but we were all in a booth). Both times the waitstaff were attentive, reviewing items on the appetizer and entree list that were gluten-free. All of our meals were delicious and they even had a Tuxedo Cake (half white chocolate mousse/half chocolate mousse) that was gluten-free! (No cake underneath all that mousse.) A great meal in a great setting.

Fun restaurant in Hilton Head with gluten free menu and live music Jul 28, 2012
reviewer: Fireflymd from Long Island, NY

The Jazz Corner has a separate Gluten Free Menu!!!! Fun restaurant with live music. Very close quarters, but typical for a club-type restaurant. When we arrived we notified our waiter that a member of our party needed to eat gluten-free, and he promptly returned with a separate menu. My husband and I had really great meals but the kids didn't like their bbq ribs that much--not as tasty as we thought they'd be, especially considering the location. The waiter was great, our food was good, and the performers were very entertaining.

Average gluten-free dining experience at restaurant in Kauai Oct 14, 2011

This was the only restaurant we went to in Hawaii that had little Hawaiian atmosphere. It was not open air, and once seated I felt I could be eating anywhere. There was a pretty sunset, but the ambience was cold. When we arrived the maitre 'd asked if we had any questions about the menu, and indeed I did, as my son has Celiac and needs to eat gluten-free. This gentleman was visibly thrown off by my query about possible gluten-free items on the menu, rattled off the first few as having flour in them--then quickly excused himself commenting he would discuss this with our waiter. Our waiter arrived and was completely unaware we had a gluten-free diner at the table--the maitre'd never notified him. Our waiter was very kind and gracious, and said there were chickens in the kitchen that had not been floured yet, and my son could order the Roasted Organic Chicken he requested. When the meal was served, however, the server did not indicate that my son was being served the chicken prepared without flour, and I fault myself for not ascertaining this as well. Our meals were good, not fantastic, and this resort was out of the way, and had a more formal atmosphere than I would prefer. I was disappointed with the way the maitre'd handled our gluten-free query--we eat out quite often, and were surprised that he never returned to check on us. This was the only restaurant in Hawaii where our gluten-free experience was less than exemplary.

Awesome Gluten Free dining experience at Four Seasons Hawaii! Oct 14, 2011
reviewer: Fireflymd from Long Island, NY

This was a fabulous dining experience in a gorgeous outdoor setting. The waiter was very knowledgable about eating gluten free and brought out gluten-free bread to start. All of our meals were wonderful, and their signature dessert, the Chocolate Rip Curl, was naturally gluten-free. We were so impressed we went back the next day for lunch, and as usual, my son ordered his burger without a bun, explaining he needed to eat gluten-free. What a surprise when the waitress told him she would bring his burger out on a gluten-free bun!! Truly great dining experience in a gorgeous setting.

Excellent Gluten Free Dining Experience at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel in Hawaii Oct 14, 2011

Eclectic and interesting menu in a gorgeous setting. Despite misplacing our reservation, it was handled very professionally and courteously. Another great experience--even though there was no separate gluten-free menu, the waitress was knowledgable and accomodating. When an older couple next to us heard me inquiring about gluten-free items for my son, the woman turned to us holding a piece of Gluten Free bread and commented with wonder that in all her life she had never been offered gluten-free bread in a restaurant!
