Best gluten free pancakes in the Chicago suburbs Oct 12, 2013
reviewer: JustAWatcher from Chicago, IL

This restaurant has several locations throughout the suburbs. They have terrific food and THE best gluten free pancakes of any place (and I've eaten at quite a few) in the Chicago suburbs. They have a firm handle on avoiding cross contamination (at least at breakfast) and after eating here more than 50 times, I've never had a reaction. Highly recommend them.

Good food...except for the gluten free pancakes Oct 12, 2013
reviewer: JustAWatcher from Chicago, IL

First, expect a wait of at least 30 minutes if you're going on the weekend. What's nice is they have a large outdoor patio where you can relax and even buy a cup of coffee at their take-out counter. The food was really good and they appear to know about not contaminating the gluten free items. I went here specifically to try their gluten free pancakes which they call " honey cakes." Unfortunately, the pancakes were not of the same quality as the rest of their food. Not the worst but I've had better at other restaurants and even making them at home from a mix. I'd skip this place if you're looking for some really tasty pancakes to have with your breakfast. If you're not a pancake eater then this place would be worth 4 stars.

Be careful... Oct 12, 2013
reviewer: JustAWatcher from Chicago, IL

This place advertised gluten free pancakes AND gluten free waffles, which if you've been eating gluten free for any length of time know that gluten free waffles is a rarity. The problem is that even though they may offer gluten free items, I don't believe the cooks or wait staff have been educated on the equally important concept of cross contamination. I happened to ask where the gluten free pancakes were cooked and was told "on the griddle." I asked, "The same griddle you just cooked the regular pancakes on??" And the nice waitress responded, "Yes!" With NO clue that those gluten free pancakes were no longer "gluten free" now. After explaining the problem she still had no clue how to fix it. Finally she suggested having the cook use a separate pan. Imagine if I hadn't asked?? I would have assumed that since they offered gluten free items they'd know not to contaminate them --- obviously they don't! So my recommendation for this place is to make sure you go over with them each step in the preparation department to make sure you don't end up suffering the effects of unintended gluten consumption via cross contamination. And btw--the gluten free pancakes were some of the worst I've eaten. Egglectic cafe's are 10 times better.

Excellent gluten free experience at restaurant in Savannah, Georgia Oct 02, 2013
reviewer: JustAWatcher from Chicago, IL

This is one of the "must dine" restaurants in Savannah and with good reason -- their food is excellent. Now, all us celiac sufferers have reason to rejoice. They have a great Gluten Free Menu with many options and a staff that is knowledgable in what it means. Highly recommend.

Extensive Gluten Free menu at restaurant in Arlington Heights, Illinois Sep 07, 2013
reviewer: JustAWatcher from Chicago, IL

I have been to this restaurant many times because they have an extensive gluten free menu. Everything from a complimentary gluten free roll to appetizers to salads to sandwiches to dinners and at least 4 choices for dessert. Everything is tasty and they take care to provide the diner with a contaminate-free meal.
