Olive Garden Dec 14, 2009

We had heard that the Olive Garden Restaurant had a gluten free menu but what could possibly be on there menu that is gluten free? Well recently they built a new Olive Garden near where we stay at the Paradise Palms Resort and we decided to be adventurous and try it. My daughter knew before we went that she might have to just eat a salad but she didnt care because we all wanted to see what it was all about. Well to our surprise they now offer gluten free pasta. We were told that the pasta is made by the Olive Garden. It tasted really good - not the best we have had but really good. My daughter got the penne pasta with marinara sauce and she really enjoyed it. There was surprisingly a nice assortment of gluten free meals. She was so full that she skipped desert. I rated this restaurant a 4 Palms only because unlike Disney World you dont have a chef coming to your table and handling your meals personally which is why I always give Disney restaurants a 5 Palms rating.

Flyin Fish Cafe' Dec 14, 2009

The Flyin Fish is located @ the Boardwalk Hotel. They offer fresh seafood and steak. My daughter is only 8 and does not eat seafood. I am sure that they offer amazing gluten free seafood; however, we have not tried any of it yet. For dinner my daughter usually gets an amazing steak with french fries. For dessert they have there own signature dessert for kids. They offer a white chocolate mickey puzzle that they get to paint with a paint brush and then eat. It normally comes with a cupcake but for my daughter they give her a gluten free brownie that is decorated with whip cream, disney sprinkles etc... She loves it!!! A few tips for this restaurant. If the restaurant is booked, there is a bar that you can eat at, or there is a chef's table that you can also eat at where you can see the chefs cooking while you are dining. You don't need reservations for these areas and they usually have availability. Also, this is an expensive meal so what we do sometimes is go to the bar just for dessert and the kids enjoy the puzzle and we get a few drinks and a dessert as well and everyone is happy.

Raglin Road Dec 14, 2009

Raglin Road is located @ Downtown Disney. It is an Irish Pub. We enjoy eating there because my husband is Irish and he really enjoys the food and we all love the atmosphere. However, even though they can accomodate the gluten free diet with no problems, there are not a lot of options. My daughter usually gets a steak and the kettle fries and that is plenty for her. For dessert the only thing she can get is ice cream. The food is wonderful and I would recommend this restaurant - there are just not a lot of options. We visit this restaurant at least once per trip when we go.

Donald's Safari Breakfast Dec 14, 2009

If you enjoy a Character Buffet Breakfast then this is a great place to eat when visiting Animal Kingdom. They offer so much food and a chef will walk you through the buffet line and let you know what is and is not gluten free. Items that can't be found at the buffet area the chef will gladly make for you in the kitchen and bring it out to your table. They can make GF mickey waffles, pancakes etc. They also have an assortment of gluten free donuts and muffins. We enjoyed the donuts but did not like the muffins. The donuts and muffins were both made by Kinnikinnick. When we were there they were carving a fresh ham and it was AMAZING. My daughter loved the fresh ham and is still talking about it. We already made reservations to eat here again for our next trip in Apirl 2010.

MaMa Melrose Dec 14, 2009
reviewer: Christa from Jackson, NJ

MaMa Melrose is located in Hollywood Studios. It is an Italian Restaurant but dont let that deter you from eating there if you are on a gluten free diet. My daughter is 8 years old and can't eat gluten. We chose to eat at MaMa Melrose because they offer a "Fantasmic Package," which means we can eat there and also get reserved seats for the Fantasmic Show later that night. Which is wonderful because then you dont have to stand in line for hours before the show just to try and get a seat. My daughter was given several warm gluten free rolls to start with, she had a salad and then for dinner she had Fettuccini Alfredo with grilled chicken - it tasted great! For dessert she had several options but she chose a sundae.
