Caito's Pizza-Yummo! Nov 07, 2009
reviewer: Mparker9 from Murfreesboro, TN

I was in St. Louis on business and googled "gluten free pizza St. Louis" and found Caito's site with some great reviews. I decided to drive out to the 'burbs and take a chance. Boy, am I glad I did! Once seated, I asked my server about gluten free pizza. She was very knowledgeable and went on to tell me that I could order pizza, pasta, salads, rolls, and desserts--all gf. (Let it be known that Caito's also has gluten-filled pizza, etc.) I ordered a cheese pizza and house salad. While I waited, a basket of piping hot gf rolls were presented to me. Then, a wonderful house salad full of lettuce, radishes, fresh mozzarella, black olives, tomato and house-made vinagrette was served. This was followed by a wonderful gf cheese pizza. I was then offered gf brownies for dessert, but I was just too full! I will be back in a heartbeat if I am ever in St. Louis, though. Give Caito's a chance--you won't be sorry!

Fabulous! Knoxville now has a gf baker! My fiance picked up an assortment of items for me including a to-die-for red velvet cupcake! I also got some chocolate chip cookies, a brownie, a banana nut muffin, and a loaf of sandwich bread. They are all yummy. They also serve lunch there, but I have not gotten to try it yet. Go try this place and support Rachel!

Matteo's pizza, bread, cupcakes Mar 03, 2009

Matteo's gf pizza is fabulous, but I also just tried their gf bread and cupcakes. The cupcakes are vanilla and either vanilla or chocolate frosting. They taste like the kind you used to be able to eat from the grocery store. The sandwich bread is really yummy, and it comes as a huge loaf. For $7 the size makes it worth the price. You must order the bread beforehand right now, but Matteo's has plans to have a gf bakery in the future--yay!!

Wonderful! I checked out Matteo's website (google Matteo's pizza) where I learned that they make gluten free pizza in a dedicated room--yay! They were also voted the third best pizza place in Nashville according to a website I found. Anyway, you can order gf pizza in two different sizes. I ordered the larger size. You do not have to order in advance, which is another plus. You call, place the order, and then pick it up 20 minutes later--just like the regular pizza joints. My pizza was ready upon arrival with a nice blue GF sticker on the box alerting me that my pizza was safe for me. The pizza looked and smelt completely normal and delicious. And, it tasted delicious too. My only gripe...size of the pizza. I ordered the larger size and was able to eat it all by myself for one meal. I am not a big person either. The plus side of this, the prices are great...like $6 for the small and $9 for the larger one I ordered. I will definiately be back to Matteo's. As an added bonus, I have heard that they will soon offer gf cupcakes...woohoo!

Maggiano's Dec 22, 2008

Wonderful! The actual menu states that gf pasta is available by request! I called ahead to alert the restaurant of my gf needs, and they told me that they had many celiac guests--yay! Upon arrival at my table, the waitress asked if I had any ideas about what I wanted to order. After looking at the menu, I decided I wanted a chicken dish. The chef actually came out from the kitchen and discussed my choice. He knew the sauce for this dish had gluten and offered to make me an alternative, gf sauce, which I agreed to. My dinner came separately from my family's, and it was delish! HUGE portions too. I would definitely recommend Maggiano's to others.
