This is a stop on the Diners, Drive-ins and Dives show. We stopped in this summer to celebrate my birthday with some fresh seafood. We have been here before a couple of years ago when we were new to gluten free dining and things went smoothly. This trip, however, was a nightmare. They are described on many webpages etc as being gf friendly, so I did not call ahead. This was my first mistake! When we arrived they did not have a gluten free menu and her suggestion was we have a piece of chicken with some salad on the side. Not quite what we had in mind! With some further discussion (she seemed quite bothered by us) we decided to have steamed clams & mussels for an app. She kept trying to give us crackers with it since we couldn't have the bread?? Another warning light should have went off! My husband wanted to just pay the check and leave but I hated to disappoint the girls so we ordered to the best of our ability. My husband and daughter had grilled fish and my other daughter and I had crab legs. Seemed a safe bet. There was much debate about being able to substitute for fries so I ended up paying for meals and additional sides even after discussing this with a manager. When I was down to my last two crab legs I noticed a piece of pasta wound around the top of the leg. I was not happy! After waiting sometime to discuss this with another manager I was met with: they probably just boiled it in the pasta water! I could not believe what I was hearing. His next response was "what is gluten anyway?"!! I have no idea why people think this is a gf friendly place. They were quite hostile and we spent almost $100 to be sicker then dogs the next few days. STAY AWAY is my best advice on this one!
