Roti restaurant in Washington, DC for gluten-free,

I had a great chicken roti on a gf pita at the new Roti in Washington DC yesterday. I was skeptical because of concerns I've heard about cross contamination, but the restaurant has apparently taken steps to address cross-contamination issues. I printed the gf menu and presented it when I got to the counter. The people behind the counter recognized it and asked me to wait, as someone specific had to cook for me. A young man came out, introduced himself, and explained that he would personally prepare my order in the back, away from any risk of contamination, and then bring me my pita. He was very helpful in taking my order, and clearly understood how to keep my food safe. I only waited a few minutes till he brought it out, and the roti was amazing - the pita wanted to fall apart a bit, but I handled it gently and it stayed together. Only one drop of aioli was spilled! The pita was surprisingly soft, a good texture, but not the most flavorful I've ever had. The fillings more than made up for it. I was quite well afterwards, and am considering going back tomorrow. If you're in DC near the White House and need a gf lunch, Roti can be a great choice. It's expensive and crowded, but not too noisy, and the ordering line moves fast. Best of all, they recognize and respect the need for safe gluten free food. SUBMITTED BY DC CELIACS SUPPORT GROUP
