We went to the new Pete's Apizza in Tenleytown/Friendship
Heights yesterday eve. They have the same menu as the
Columbia Heights location, with the Kyra's GF pizza, which has
a tasty crust. You can add almost any toppings you like.
Unfortunately we went at the busiest time - about 6:30 pm.
By 7 pm whole pizzas were taking 40 minutes, and GF pizzas
50 minutes! I remember that happening in Columbia Heights,
too -- if you order a special pizza, the food for different
members of your party will come out at wildly different times.
Best to go before 6 pm, around 8 pm or later, or order take
out. Also, although we think the GF pizza's delicious, they can
only promise to "do the best they can" to avoid x-
contamination. They are informed about the issues but the
prep area is very busy. So, you must decide what risk you can
tolerate before going...
It's also possible just to have one of their lovely salads,
antipasti or gelato -- there's little or no wait for those items,
and they are not prepared in the pizza area.
