This was a very disappointing experience. It was my son's birthday, and we gave him the choice of where to go in the Tysons area, where we were planning to take him to pick out a couple special Birthday presents. He chose Noodles & Company in "Tysons West" shopping center on Route 7 (Leesburg Pike). We had been to a Noodles & Company in Chantilly a couple months prior, with much success. However, this one doesn't seem to "get it" when it comes to gluten free. To make a long story short, they got our order a bit mixed up, and we ended up having to re-order an order of gluten free buttered noodles with shrimp for our son. We waited and waited, and when it finally came, it had little specs of brown something in it (breadcrumbs, pasta? -- we didn't know). When I showed it to the manger, he mentioned something about the water it was cooked in. I explained again -- after explaining when we ordered the GF noodles -- that it had to be cooked in a separate pot of water. So we waited again. At this point, our son was so skeptical of how they were preparing his meal (as were we) that he decided not to eat there (we took the pasta "to go" for another member of our family to have later). We got him something else from another restaurant. It was so frustrating that this location didn't seem to understand the importance of cooking gluten free pasta in separate, fresh, clean water. We will not go to this restaurant again -- perhaps the other location where we had better luck. It is such a great reminder that restaurants offering gluten free options don't necessarily know anything about providing a SAFE gluten free experience. Be vigilant at all times. It's such a bummer that this was our son't Birthday choice of where to eat. It broke my heart, because their gluten free noodles are quite good. But it's not relevant if they aren't prepared safely.
