I just wanted to recognize Restaurant Eve in Old Town
Alexandria for doing a fantastic job handling dietary concerns. I
have business lunches there occasionally and they save names
along with special requests in a database making it very easy to
take clients there.
Case in point, I made a reservation earlier in the week for a
lunch today. They had gluten free bread ready for me and the
waiter (who was very knowledgeable) indicated most of the
items could be made gluten free (I ordered the Basque Seafood
Stew and it was excellent). My guests sampled the bread and
even commented it tasted just like "regular" bread. As a bonus,
I ended up taking home almost half a loaf for sandwiches the
next few days. :)
