When choosing a dinner on the fly, it's not often that a gluten-free diner will take a chance on an Italian restaurant. In our case, we were lucky enough to fall upon Ladro, an Italian restaurant that is in two locations in Melbourne, Australia.
The pizza bases are to. die. for.! They are gluten-free and corn-free, being made from rice and soy flour. The pizza we chose was the Gamberi Piselli which was also naturally dairy-free... we know what you're thinking, pizza without cheese is not pizza, but just give it a try!
There are a wide selection of pizzas that can be made on a gluten-free base. Also there are risottos and salads available that are free from gluten. There is sorbet for dessert (if you can fit it in after all that delicious pizza), all of the other desserts have gluten in them.
The staff at Ladro are really understanding and helpful when it comes to food requirements, so just ask for help and they will be there for you!
