I am currently visiting Portugal with my parents and sister and we were referred by some friends to eat at Toma La Da Ca. This small mom-and-pop restaurant is in the Santa Catarina neighborhood and the restaurant gets filled to the brim within it's first 30 minutes of being open so be sure to get there early. They serve a wide variety of grilled meat dishes and vegetable sides, all traditional Portuguese style meals. They have an English menu available upon request although this menu does not include every single item they serve. Their grilled meat dishes are gluten free as they are not made with sauces or breading. I ordered the grilled salmon with a side of potatoes and broccoli. It was delicious and entirely gluten free! I highly recommend this restaurant and would advise that non-Portuguese speakers might try to bring along someone who does speak the language since this is a very small, traditional restaurant slightly out of the way of tourists.
