Pomar Orgânico has a cozy rustic atmosphere near Barra da Tijuca beach and streches between a golf course (Itanhangá Golf Club) and the tropical forest on its backside. The restaurant is health-oriented and serves organic vegetarian food totally gluten free and mostly lactose free. One of its owners is Chef Andrea Henrique who is always present to make sure everything is alright. They are open everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner except on Mondays. One can order salads, omelettes, quinoa hamburgers, various pastas and wonderful desserts. Wine, juices and gluten free beer are available. As a starter, one of the recommendations is a mix of sweet potato and manioc chips (made in coconut oil) with macadamia butter and apricot jam. Their breakfast combo named "pomar orgânico" is loaded with energy: gluten free bread, gluten free granola, a cake, fruits (avocado cream and papaya topped with chia seeds), jam, ghee butter, honey, scrambled eggs, orange juice, almond milk and coffee. It's something so special and it sure will keep you satisfied for the whole day! Before leaving, you can also go shopping for organic items, such as fruits and vegetables and even their own freshly baked delicious gluten free bread as they have a mini market just inside the restaurant.
