This place is amazing. If you are gluten free and anywhere near Hershey, PA, you MUST try it. They can make just about anything on the menu gluten free, including pizza and pasta. Bruschetta, subs, gluten free beer, and desserts, too. We have enjoyed everything we've ever ordered here. They are careful with GF orders and put a special tag on the plates.

Restaurant in Hershey, PA offers some of the best gluten free dining around,

This restaurant is amazing. They have such a large selection of gluten free offerings on their menu that it is hard to decide what to order. Everything is so good! They take great care in the kitchen to prevent cross-contamination (even though it is not a completely gluten free establishment), and they serve their gluten free items with a special label on the plate indicating it's gluten free. I'd recommend their pizza (Buffalo Chicken was really unique and delicious), any of their pastas (we especially enjoyed the Penne Vodka), and Chicken PIccata. Be sure to save room for dessert, because they have many traditional Italian desserts to choose from -- and all gluten free: tiramisu, ricotta cake, cheesecake, and panna cotta, to name a few! If I could give this place a 10 palm rating, I would!

Extremely Celiac-friendly, casual Italian dining experience in Hershey, PA. Located approximately 2.5 miles from the main Hershey attractions, Piazza Sorrento offered a casual and safe dining experience for adults and children. The children's menu offered the traditional fare but the waiters were more than happy to swap out options, gluten free and the like, to make it exactly what we wanted. From an adult's perspective, beer, garlic bread and too many options to list provided an amazing dining experience. The waiters, front of house staff and kitchen staff were extremely versed in cross-contamination and except for one instance where the waiter didn't know if a sauce was gluten free (he went out of his way to confirm and find out more about the preparation of the sauce) everything was perfect. I approached the menu similar to every other restaurant asking about the details of preparation and the waiter jumped in and said, "you're Celiac?" and from then on, it was a smoothe ride. A bit of advice - if you go, though a very easy transition for the wait staff and hostess desk, it's better to call ahead and alert them to the gluten free needs. The meal was so good the first night, our family went back for another round the following evening! I highly recommend the pizzas (the spicy chicken pizza was amazing) and the pasta dishes. The gluten free bread was store bought but altered at the restaurant. Overall a 4.5-palm restaurant due to: -proximity to Hershey attractions -ease and peace of mind menu -knowledgeable and friendly wait staff -price ($15-$20/per person including alcoholic beverages) -menu variety including desserts - so popular they ran out the second night (took .5 palm away for that reason only!) (Lastly, there are two parts to the restaurant. There is a casual, pizza shop portion and the more formal sit down restaurant. Though both are casual, the pizza shop has a serve yourself feel but we didn't eat there so I can neither comment on whether or not they serve GF pizza nor provide a safe atmosphere but if the pizza shop is anywhere near the safe haven of the restaurant, it should be fine but please call in advance of visiting.)

This restaurant is phenomenal -- for gluten free and "regular" diners alike. It's one of the most extensive gluten free menus we've encountered. They offer entrees, soups, salads, gluten free pizza (homemade crust), gluten free pasta, and even several gluten free desserts. Everything was amazing. We actually dined here TWO night in a row -- in fact, our ONLY two nights we were in town for our son's hockey tournament. Favorite things we ordered from the gluten free menu included several pizzas (thin, homemade crust was delicious), gluten free pasta with white clam sauce, gluten free penne with chicken, sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms in a light white wine sauce, prosciutto mozzarella crostini (with sage -- yum!), bruschetta, a fish special of the day (that happened to be GF), chicken marsala, and ricotta cake. They even had gluten free lasagna, although none of us ordered it. And of course, they brought out gluten free bread to start. The meals were beyond delicious, and we are so grateful we got to eat here two nights in a row (we could have eaten here for a week and not even scratched the surface of the menu!). The only downside -- and it is so minor -- is that the service was a tad slow. However, we were there on a Friday and Saturday night at peak times, and the place was packed. And we are always happy to wait for such a good, safe, gluten free meal, so it didn't really matter. I'd just recommend budgeting enough time for a leisurely dinner if you go there over a weekend. Can't wait to go back next time we visit Hershey!

Piazza Sorrento is a casual Italian restaurant on one side and a pizza shop on the other. They have a full gluten free menu and everything is delicious! Everything comes with a gluten free tag on it, so there's no question if you got the right plate! Very friendly service and they even bring you gluten free bread when everyone else in your party gets bread! I've tried Alfredo, Lasagna, pizza and a sub and they were all delicious! They have gluten free tiramisu too! If you are in the Hershey area and you like Italian food...this place is a must go!!!

We walked in, and the hostess greeted us. They sat us within 5 minutes (we had reservations - definitely recommend for weekends), and I asked the gentleman that sat us if I should order off the paper gluten-free menu I'd picked up in the vestibule. He immediately whisked away the menu he'd laid on the table for me, and was back within seconds with a special gluten free menu. The menu looked just like the regular menu, in a heavy faux leather folder. When the waitress came to our table, she already knew that I would be ordering gluten free, and placed my gluten free roll on order. Before she even took our order! The gluten-free menu is huge. Lost of selection: pastas, pizza, salads, appetizers AND desserts! Everything sounds great, but I'm not a picky eater. I went with the Garlic Shrimp over Penne, with a house salad with the house dressing. The roll was - if I had to guess - Kinnikinnick, possibly. Not bad, but not thrilling either. However, I dipped it in the bread spices, and it was lovely. (My husband said the gluten rolls were fantastic). The salad dressing was a spicy italian, and very pleasant. The meal tasted great - the noodles were cooked al dente, the shrimp was plump and juicy, and the presentation very nice. One thing I really love: each gluten free dish comes with a tag on it that says, Special Gluten Free Dish on it. It's another way for them to make sure they are giving you the right meal. They have two gluten-free desserts: Tiramisu and Creme Brulee with fresh fruit. I wanted to try them, but I was too full! I got a doggie bag to go. For two meals, one alcoholic beverage the total came to 43 bucks and some change. Not cheap, but well worth it. What I enjoyed most was that I could relax. They gave a full explanation in their menu of how they view gluten-free dining, and they immediately recognized my needs and worked hard to make sure I felt confident in what they served. Not to mention, the service was excellent. The place ran like a well-oiled machine. Our waitress took the corner into the room at an odd angle, and she dropped an entire tray of meals (not ours, but four or five entrees). Embarrassed, she immediately reported it the kitchen, the busboys and shift manager cleaned it up quickly, the explanation was made to the table, and the evening resumed. Truly amazing team work. Overall mood: busy, active atmosphere, appropriate for children though they'll need to be on their best behavior as the space is narrow between tables. No Indy 500! A bit noisy, simple, elegant interior. Closed Sundays. HIGHLY recommend this restaurant if you are close to Hershey, PA, or driving through. Google them on the web.
