I popped in this small counter-service cafe for a quick, healthy meal while doing some shopping. It seems like more of a take-away type place, as all the food is packaged in to-go containers, but if you choose to eat in (as I did), there are a handful of tables. I got a spinach salad with shredded beets, carrots, raisins, walnuts, and various other yummy toppings. There were many salads to choose from, along with organic juices and smoothies, yogurt, oatmeal, quinoa and rice bowls, and wraps (about the only thing that is not gluten free), sides, soup, tea, and coffee. The food is prepared off-site (and sent to their 12 locations throughout New York City), but they can tell you what is gluten free and what is not. Everything is organic, thus the name Organic Avenue! Everything they sell is also plant-based (fruits, veggies, legumes, whole grains, nuts, and seeds).
