It didn't work out for us to have our usual large, family Thanksgiving dinner this year, so we instead went with a few friends to Claim Jumper. Normally Claim Jumper has quite a large gluten free menu available, but I called ahead to make sure there would be enough options available for me on Thanksgiving as well.
Although the turkey wasn't gluten free, I did have a choice of either prime rib or salmon. And there were plenty of sides to choose from. I brought my own piece of pumpkin cake for dessert so that I didn't have to look pitiful while everyone else was eating their apple or pumpkin pie at the end of the meal. (I give my pumpkin cake 5 palms!)
I was completely satisfied with my meal, and I was highly impressed with our server, the manager, and the chef. Not only did they assist me in my gluten free meal, but they also provided a vegetarian meal for one of our party, and were extremely careful with another of our party's meal, because she is extremely allergic to onions.
It was a very pleasant experience. I do recommend that, if you go there for a holiday meal, you go early in the day when they aren't quite as busy as they are in the late afternoon or evening. That way you will be assured that they will have the time to spend with you and will be able to answer any questions that you might have.
