Who would have thought of an historic French settlement on the west side of the Mississippi river being situtated in Missouri? But we found Ste. Genevieve, Missouri a delightful little town with some of the oldest French structures in America still standing. We happened on an historic bed and breakfast on Main Street built in the 1800's aptly named Main Street Inn. It was beautifully restored by the owners Ken and Karen. Karen is newly diagnosed with Celiac Disease and was already prepared for serving her gourmet breakfasts to those of us who must eat gluten free. It was a lovely experience and with 7 rooms on 3 stories, there was room for our extended family. Ste. Genevieve is situated close to some wonderful wineries, one of which had gluten free crackers to purchase while wine tasting. Over all it was a lovely getaway with a gluten free friendly bed & breakfast and an amazing wine tasting tour.
