Cape Cup is a cozy casual bakery/ cafe; is open for breakfast and lunch daily; is located in the center of Orleans near the post office and the bike path. The family-friendly restaurant features homemade baked goods as well as fresh salads, soups and sandwiches.
Owners Elise and Bill Waldron cater to their Gluten Free customers with choices of GF soups, salads, custom cooked egg dishes for breakfast and homemade from scratch gluten free muffins like Pumpkin cranberry and Blueberry oat, made with gluten-free oats, two of my favorites. They have at least two GF muffin selections daily but arrive early because they sell out by 10:00 AM.
Cape Cup also features homemade “world’s best chocolate chip gluten-free cookies" as well as oatmeal raisin gluten-free cookies. If you really want to try something special ask for the gluten-free chocolate brownie with ice cream. Several types of gluten-free biscotti are also baked in the cafe.
If you ask nicely, at breakfast (served 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM daily) and until Noon on Sunday, Elise will make you a gluten-free veggie omelet with home fries, hold the toast please.
At lunch, try the largest fresh lobster roll on the Cape without the roll on a bed of lettuce and tomato. Really great!!
Check out their website for daily gluten-free choices and specials and tell them Bob sent you!
