Awesome Gluten Free dining experience at Four Seasons Hawaii!,

This was a fabulous dining experience in a gorgeous outdoor setting. The waiter was very knowledgable about eating gluten free and brought out gluten-free bread to start. All of our meals were wonderful, and their signature dessert, the Chocolate Rip Curl, was naturally gluten-free. We were so impressed we went back the next day for lunch, and as usual, my son ordered his burger without a bun, explaining he needed to eat gluten-free. What a surprise when the waitress told him she would bring his burger out on a gluten-free bun!! Truly great dining experience in a gorgeous setting.

Pahu i`a, Hualalai's fine dining restaurant, offers sweeping ocean views and brilliant island sunsets that provide a magnificent backdrop to the oceanfront dining experience. Having good friends who regularly stay at this hotel and invited us to dine with them at Pahu i'a for my early birthday dinner is always a bonus and a special treat. From the moment we all sat down to our pretty table with the perfect view of the setting sun, our perfectionist-type waiter arrived carrying a gluten-free menu. He was well informed that I was a Celiac and immediately delivered yet another basket of warm GF bread. The menu had been carefully modified from the restaurant's seasonal offerings and gave a wide variety of dining options. My friend and I both ordered a fantastic Hawaiian-style Capirinha that was bursting with flavor. My first plate was the best fresh beet and goat cheese salad with candied pecans I've ever tasted. The flavors were hard to describe and the Island is known for their world-class goat cheese that would make the Greeks a little nervous. My entree was a planked Hawaiian Snapper with Shoyu, Mirin and Sake-marinated, cilantro, red chilis, Wasabi, Pea Shoots...and yes, somehow that was allllll gluten-free. I promise. For dessert my friend insisted that we share the Hamakua vanilla Creme Brulee with toasted macadamia nuts, Cinnamon Malasada and coffee Cream. She said it was to die for, and she was right! Wow. The service was impeccable, as you would expect from a Four Seasons property, and the dining experience was truly special and unique. The next time I'm in Hawai'i I'll definitely have saved up for another wonderful meal at Pahu i'a - it's definitely worth the saving and was truly a fine dining experience in one of the world's most gorgeous settings.
