Finally I can eat pizza, but better yet I can actually enjoy it. Gourmet Pizza Company in Hyde Park started offering gluten free pizza crust, so we went to give it a try with many reservations, being that my experience with gf pizza has been sub par. All I can say is WOW, their pizza is amazing. First off, their crust is not only gf but also vegan and completely allergen free. So no eggs, soy, milk, nuts, shellfish, fish and most importantly no wheat. They offer it in 10-inch crust only which is perfect for one and the entire crust is only 300 calories and packed with fiber (which the body loves). To describe the crust, its between thin and regular with an actual crust edge. It has flavor, but not overwhelming flavor like most and no bitter after taste like many that I have ingested. The toppings are endless from pepperoni to shrimp to smoked guoda cheese. Their pizza sauce is incredible. Not too sweet, not too tangy, with a hint a garlic. We had their Chicken Smoked Gouda Pizza and the Cheeseless Vegan and they were both out of this world. Next time we go I am trying the BBQ Chicken and the Steak Gorgonzola Pizza. As for their policy that they implement for no cross-contamination, they only use GF Rice Flour to dust all their regular pizzas, so any flour that may settle throughout their restaurant is SAFE, they use special screens for cooking, use a separate sauce container and ladle, separate pizza cutter, and all their toppings are gf with the exception of the Thai Sauce. They also offer gluten free vegan cookies and will soon be carrying cupcakes and beer as-well. This is a great find for us, the staff is very well trained and very aware of the seriousness of cross contamination. I felt that I was in very good hands and after having eaten there 6 times in 2 months I, in fact, was in good hands. Thank you for offering gf crust, for making it taste so good and for taking all the extra special precautions for making it safe.
