Lots of gluten free items on menu at this Aspen, CO restaurant and brewery,

This is a restaurant and brewery in downtown Aspen. While you might think this is the last place you might find gluten free items on the menu, they have one of the better range of options we found in Aspen, because the owner's wife has Celiac. First off, HOPS Culture is a really cool place with great seating enclaves everywhere: outside, a windowed area right inside the door, a cool bar, high bar-style tables, and a cozy couch area with a fireplace and TV (probably always in high demand apres ski!). We went there directly after skiing one day with our kids (yes, since it's also a restaurant, not just a brewery, they allow kids). My husband enjoyed gluten-free Omission Lager, while I LOVED my gluten-free Moscow Mule made of vodka, lime juice, and GF ginger beer (which is non-alcoholic), served in a copper mug. Yum! They had some appetizers and drinks on their happy hour menu for $3. I ordered the gluten-free Chorizo Deviled Eggs, which were delicious. They mark all the gluten-free options with a GF on the menu, so it's easy to see what you can have. And again, they are very familiar with how to keep those with Celiac safe by avoiding cross contamination (we asked all the usual questions). We all ordered gluten-free meals. I got the Kale Apple Salad, my husband got the 1/2 Rotisserie Chicken, and both our boys ordered the Ribeye. The crispy red potatoes, fennel roasted carrots, and caramelized brussels sprouts were the three gluten-free sides available (only the bacon cheddar tater tots weren't GF). We all loved our meals, with the fennel roasted carrots being an especially big hit with my husband. Sandwich options were available with gluten free bread, for an upcharge of $2. They also have a mac-n-cheese menu and can substitute gluten free pasta. The only disappointment was that there was no gluten-free dessert. But frankly, we didn't have room anyway! The menu at this restaurant is not large, but what they do, they do well, and a good two-thirds of the items on the menu are available gluten free or already GF. I would highly recommend a stop here if visiting Aspen.

Sandwiches are available on gluten free bread for an extra charge of $2. In addition, all macaroni and cheese dishes can be modified to be gluten free. Mini chicken tacos, apple-kale salad, 10 oz. rib eye steak, and chorizo deviled eggs are among your other options. Be sure to inform the server of your gluten free requirements.
