Carnival is fantastic with gluten-free dining requests for those with celiac!!!!,

I just got back from a 7-day Southern Caribbean cruise on the Carnival Victory and ate more than I thought was absolutely fantastic! I went to the dining room on the first day and asked to speak with the head waiter. I then met 'Karla' (who soon became my favorite person on the ship). She came to our table each dinner asking how the meal was, giving me the menu for the next night so that I could pre-plan my meal and also asked about the following breakfast. She would then put this information into the computer so that each time I went to the dining room the waiters would already have my special meal in their hands ready to go. I had a lot of choices which was fantastic. The only negative was that they ran out of rice pasta half way through the cruise, but that is not their fault; there were far more cruisers eating gluten free that did not tell Carnival beforehand so they were unable to plan for this. But here are some of the options I was able to have; 1. gluten free bread for dinner or toast for breakfast 2. pasta 3. chicken, beef, fish etc. 4. gluten free pancakes and french toast 4. desserts; warm chocolate melting cake, cheesecake etc. I really cannot say enough about those in the kitchen and who work in the dining rooms. Even at lunch when I went to the buffet, I asked to speak with the chef 'Lorento' and he came out and walked me through the buffet each time I was there to tell me what I could or could not eat. When there weren't a lot of choices, he made me a stirfry with rice. Carnival really cared about me being happy and able to eat what I wanted. They knew what gluten free and celiac meant, and I didn't get sick once, which is not something I can say very often. I would recommend anyone with Celiac to travel on Carnival...while I usually lose weight on these vacations, I actually ended up gaining!

Best Gluten free vacation ever -- Celebrity Summit Cruise!,

I recently took a trip to the Southern Carbbean on Celebrity Cruise lines, and I must say it was the easiest vacation ever. My boyfriend and I had a suite, and after asking our butler, he brought gluten free toast for me every morning. When ordering room service, they would prepare a turkey club for me on gluten free bread. In the main dining room they would allow me to see the menu for the next day and pick what I would like to eat for the following night. They would then make it gluten free so I was able to enjoy the same menu as everyone else. The chef would also prepare a special "gluten free" dessert for me. We filled out a form prior to arriving at the ship and met with the dining staff on our first night there. They were able to provide interesting and delicious gluten free food for me every single evening. After a disaster trip to Mexico where I spent the entire trip "gluten sick," I was so happy to finally have a way to enjoy a vacation without worrying about being sick. My only advice would be to avoid the buffet. I believe there was a lot of cross contamination here because it was the only time i felt sick. I would highly recommend this cruise line to anyone who has a serious gluten intolerance/allergy. My boyfriend and I were both extremely impressed with the amount of attention and care the staff took to ensure my meals were safe to eat.
