Prior to my 16 y/o daughter's diagnosis, the Fish Hopper restaurant was always our
first stop due to the view and the food. This was our first
vacation since going gluten-free, and I was thrilled to still be able to eat there.
We spoke with the chef, Jose, who was friendly and not the
least put out by having to come out to speak to us. He was
very knowledgeable about the GF diet and promised me to be
careful about cross contamination without being prompted.
He pointed out some menu items and then asked my daughter
what was was she wanted, to see if he could make it GF. As it
turned out she just wanted a caesar salad which was already
gluten-free with salmon, also gluten-free.
When we went back the second night, our waiter remembered
that there were to be no croutons on her salad (yep - so good
she ordered it twice). That night we splurged and had dessert
and found there were 2 wonderful choices that were gluten-free.
Not a separate GF menu, but the staff really made me feel
comfortable and I believe the chef would have gone out of his
way to make something special had my daughter wanted it.
