Gluten free dining at restaurant in Vancouver,

South Riding, VA
We'd heard about this restaurant and their large selection of gluten free food, and we were not disappointed. Almost anything on their menu can be made gluten free. One exception was the peach pancakes (too bad!). We were there on a Sunday -- arrived around 1:00, and the place was packed. Granted, it was small, but clearly their weekend brunch was popular. One gentleman who arrived right before us commented to my husband that the place had gotten very popular lately. After we put our name on the waiting list, I confirmed with one of the men working there that there were plenty of gluten free things on the menu. (I'd missed the big menu posted on the window when we walked in, which would have clearly confirmed this!) His response was yes, they could make just about everything gluten free, they make their own GF bread and use a separate toaster. He said they keep everything gluten free separate, and probably most of the people in there right now were there because of the gluten free options. So THAT probably explains why the place had become so popular. Smart restaurateurs know that it's good business to cater to the gluten free community! Although there were sandwiches, burgers, and plenty of entrees on the menu (many were vegan or vegetarian, too), we opted for the brunch selections (except for our older non-Celiac son who ordered a cheesesteak). Our Celiac son ordered a basic breakfast, which was huge and consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon, roasted potatoes, amazing gluten free toast, and a small salad of field greens. My husband ordered the breakfast sandwich, on the same wonderful GF bread. I ordered an omelet (they have several varieties or you can choose your own combo, which I did). This also came with the home-fried potatoes, GF toast, and salad. Everything was great, especially the homemade GF bread/toast, which was more like a flat roll that they sliced down the middle and toasted. I've never had any GF bread like it. It was perfect as toast -- tasted just like regular toast. The service was fast, too, and friendly. A very bustling place with an upbeat vibe.
