I am a junior at the University of Arizona. As of Spring 2012, there is now a gluten free club on campus! "UA Gluten Free" Club is recognized by the ASUA. We have worked with dining services to improve the issues of cross contamination in 2 restaurants and plan to continue going through each restaurant individually to ensure the gluten free food is available and as safe as possible. As of now the gluten free options on campus include: Gluten free pasta at Three Cheeses and a Noodle, gluten free buns at The Cellar Bistro (for chicken sandwiches, burgers, etc.), Udi's gluten free bread (white and whole grain) for endless sandwiches at On Deck Deli (with dedicated counter space, meats, mayo/mustard jars, gloves), Udi's bagels with dedicated GF cream cheeses, Salads at Core, gluten free Wraps at IQ Fresh and smoothies. The options will continue to grow and get safer and safer as the semester/year goes on.
