While vacationing in Sedona this summer, we asked the
concierge at the timeshare we were staying at for a recommendation for a good restaurant for dinner. We were given several restaurant menus to look at, however, when I said I have a wheat allergy, she was very aware of my needs for gluten free menu items. She highly recommended Picazzo's as a very popular Italian restaurant with a separate gluten free menu. When we arrived I was ecstatic to be able to order any kind of pizza with any type of crust, toppings, and any size. I was even given a sample of a new gluten free beer they were beginning to sell (the beer, however, was not so good). I ordered two different kinds of pizza, and they were both excellent. One friend that was traveling with us (who does not have Celiac) ate some gluten free pizza and agreed she could not tell the difference between hers and the gluten free. I made sure I ordered enough to take back to the timeshare to have for leftovers. The wait staff was very well versed regarding my needs. The restaurant was "packed" that night, as we had to wait for around 30 minutes to be seated. It was well worth the wait. It is a very family oriented restaurant and also accommodates younger people nicely. with a large bar separated from the dining room. Picazzo's is a restaurant that must be visited when one with Celiac Disease is in or near Sedona.
