If you read my review of gluten free meals in Rome, you will understand that we have been disappointed with most Italian restaurants here in the US since. While in Scottsdale, we found this little place that said it has been in the same location for something like 30 years, PLUS, it said they had gluten free pasta. We decided to check it out, and it was an Italian experience all the way.
Our server (nicknamed Meatball) was excellent and very knowledgeable about the menu. He was able to tell me which dishes had gluten in them, but also which ones could be prepared gluten free. I ordered a chicken dish (can't remember which one right now) with the gluten free pasta. It was amazing, with fresh ingredients, the pasta cooked just right, and we never felt rushed even though the place was full. When taking my order, Meatball also made a note to the chef to make sure and prepare the chicken separately. Great place, great food, great ambiance ...
