|Summary||Excellent Gluten Free Service at All-Inclusive Resort in the Dominican Republic|
My family and I traveled to the Majestic Mirage all inclusive resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic at the beginning of April. My 14-year-old son was diagnosed with Celiac Disease two years ago. This was our first international travel since his diagnosis. Our experience at the Majestic Mirage Resort could not have been better.
I had contacted the resort via phone and email prior to our stay. I was assured that they would be able to accommodate my son's dietary needs. Upon arrival, I met with guest services and showed them our gluten free travel cards in English and Spanish. Our first meal was at their beachside buffet. We met with Carolina, a manager in food and beverage. She showed us gluten free options at the buffet. She explained her cousin has Celiac Disease, and she understood. We explained our concern of cross contamination on the buffet. From that point forward, whenever we went to the buffet we were given special treatment. They made my son either a freshly made gluten free cheeseburger and fries, cheese pizza or pasta. There were other options on the buffet but we mainly stuck with those. Waiters got to know who we were and went out of their way to make sure my son was taken care of.
We met Lola at our dinner meal. She is the second executive chef. It seemed from that point on, Lola was at EVERY meal we went to. She went above and beyond to make sure every meal my son had was gluten free, fresh and delicious. No matter what restaurant we went to at the resort, my son and I felt safe, and the food was delicious. Lola went absolutely above and beyond at every meal. She was always there and always caring. She went as far as making my son a sandwich to take with us to the airport. I cannot say enough about the service at the Majestic Mirage. It seemed that everyone on the staff was happy, caring and out to make sure the guests were happy. Our butler Cesar, the waiters - Jhonathan, Luis and many more, Lola and Catalina were absolutely amazing. We had a wonderful trip with excellent gluten free food. I would highly recommend the Majestic Mirage to anyone as long as the staff remains as wonderful as those mentioned above.
