Beware of trying to eat gluten-free at the National Zoo in Washington, DC,

We visited the National Zoo yesterday. Doing our homework before going, as we always do, we learned from the zoo website that the zoo has Gluten-Free options so didn't pack lunch as we so often do. When it was lunch time, we stopped at the Panda Plaza eatery and asked about Gluten-Free options. When we approached the counter, we asked the woman about GF options. She had no idea what we were talking about. Knowing that the website said the fries were GF, we asked if the fries were fried in the same oil as the chicken tenders, she replied yes. So we asked for the manager. When we asked her about the fries, she said that she had learned from another customer that the shared oil made the fries not gluten free but had not done anything about it, further commenting that she should have someone take that info off the website. Disgusted by the lack of any Gluten-Free training or concern, we did not feel that we could be safe eating anything here.
