We had a fantastic Birthday dinner for my wife at this restaurant. We'd never been to a Brazilian steakhouse before, and it was the perfect spot for a celebration. We started with some lime cocktails that are a Brazilian specialty (both alcoholic with rum and a virgin lime cocktail with sweetened condensed milk for the kids). The style of dining is different than most restaurants. You pay one price (about $50 for adults and $25 for kids) for carved meats that are delivered to your table by "gauchos" who carve the meat off spits. They serve a wide variety of meats -- 16 in all -- and you can opt for whichever ones you like: various steaks, chicken, pork, ribs, fish, and lamb. Each one was better than the last! You really have to pace yourself. Most were gluten free, with a few exceptions. The nice thing is...they have a whole printout of "Gluten and Dairy Information" detailing exactly which items at the salad bar -- and which meats -- are gluten free (and/or dairy free). I had noted our gluten free request when making our reservation, but I don't think it's necessary. They will provide you with the gluten free menu listing and seemed very well-versed about what is and isn't gluten free (like when we asked about the virgin lime cocktail for the kids). Their salad bar is to-die-for -- really an integral part of the meal. You could literally make a meal out of that alone -- tons of fresh, healthy, and beautiful salads and side dishes. We each started with a plate full of these cold and warm sides and salads and then began eating the meats as the gauchos came around to our table. They give each diner a small disc of sorts to put next to their plate. It gives the gauchos the signal that you are ready to be served meat. Or you can turn it over when you have had enough -- or just want to take a break. We were too full for dessert, but their dessert menu was incredible. Maybe next time...although I'm not sure there were many, if any, gluten free items. I highly recommend this restaurant as very gluten free friendly. Perfect for a fun night out that will please everyone in your group.

Our family has eaten at Chima. We've never had a problem with gluten and I'm very sensitive. I've even eaten off of the large salad bar which I usually never ever do. But they run a tight ship there and attend to the food. The rolls were always gluten free but not dairy free. I believe they are either the Chebe brand or something like it. No nutritional value but tastes good. But then again going to an all you can eat steak house is not something to do everyday. I always let the staff know however so they can take care to inform me what is safe as we go. They will bring lots of little dishes to the table so ask about those.
