Another Great American Restaurant,

As always, we had a great meal at this new addition to the Great American Restaurants family of restaurants. We arrived early before the crowds and got seated right away. We asked for a copy of the gluten-free menu, which they specified as "low gluten" (likely for liability reasons). While there were a fair number of options on the menu, it didn't seem quite as extensive as the gluten-free menu of some of their other restaurants like Coastal Flats and Sweetwater Tavern. All the same, our son ordered a petite filet from the children's menu, which is g-f. My mother-in-law, also following a g-f diet due to Celiac, ordered the grilled fish of the day, which was mahi mahi. I, too, ordered the mahi mahi (but not g-f), and there wasn't too much of a difference between the two dishes. My mother-in-law's did not come with the sauce or the crispy leeks on top, but she raved about how good it was. This came as no surprise...I ALWAYS order fish at the Great American Restaurants, and it is always some of the best fish I've ever had. I don't know what their secret is, but it's fresh and always prepared with yummy sauces/salsas/sides. Many of the salads here (both side and entree sized) can be easily made g-f. But again, other than two fish options, a filet mignon, and one other item, there were no other entrees on the g-f menu. They did have a few interesting sides available g-f, including a delicious rice pilaf with almonds, which we ordered and enjoyed immensely. Like their other restaurants, they offer a g-f chocolate waffle for dessert, which is honestly one of the best desserts ever. They also offer "Atomic Chocolate Mousse," which we didn't try, but it is gluten-free. To sum up, I'd recommend this restaurant if you are okay with a relatively limited range of g-f choices. Chances are, whatever you order will be top-quality and delicious, and everyone (gluten-free and other diners) will have a spectacular meal.
