Fireworks. The nice thing about Fireworks is not only do they have wood fired gluten free pizza, but on the regular menu each item is marked indicating what is or can be made gluten free, and the really nice thing is that most of the items are. They also have a gluten free cookies dessert plate. We had an appetizer of bbq and bacon wrapped shrimp. It was VERY good however very expensive, almost $8 and you only get 3 shrimp. We probably would not get this again due to the price in relation to the proportion, they should at least give you 4 shrimp because it is an odd amount to split with someone. Even with 4 it would have to be a very special occasion to spend that much on what I would consider just a taste, unless it was a special occasion. On to the pizza, it was Great! They offer the gluten free pizza in 9" crusts (Still Riding also comes in 12", but that is all they offer here). I would say it is just enough for one person, it is not as filling as regular pizza is, so I can eat the whole thing, LOL. The price we paid was about $14 for the 2 toppings and $17 for 3 toppings. They offer many toppings and even have preservative free meats, which is a real treat because I don't eat meat with nitrates etc. They also offer a wide variety of cheeses you can add, most of which my inexperienced palate have not heard of before. Over all the pizza was very good, wood fired, thin crust pizza. It had a good amount of sauce and cheese, and nicely browned crunchy ends (just how I liked my gluten pizza). Also noteworthy, many of their ingredients are local. Since going back I would recommend asking your server for the pizza to be slightly more done. The first time it was perfect, the other times it was not cooked enough, toppings not really cooked and crust very soft, barely brown on bottom. For dessert the GF 3 cookie plate was ok. One cookie was chocolate chip and the other two seemed to have gf oats in them. Although they were not able to tell me the ingrediants when I asked. Just a heads up for people like me that even avoid gf oats. The cookies were served cold out of the fridge, with a creme sauce on the side. It is a good size for two or three people to share. I wish they heated them up and served them warm rather than cold, it would have definitely improved them to have a warm melty cookie to put the creme on. As far as service it was great, actually it was exceptionally fast! I give it 4 stars and will most definitely be back, they are also opening a second location in Arlington.
