Max's Wine Dive is best known for the gourmet comfort foods and fine wines that it serves. A seasonal menu is also featured, which showcases local meats and produce. This restaurant offers gluten free friendly options; however, all foods are prepared in a shared kitchen, so keep that in mind when ordering. The fried chicken is a specialty item here, and it can also be prepared as gluten free. Ask your server for more information. On the seasonal menu are meat dishes that are labeled gluten free friendly, including the cowboy ribeye, bacon stuffed pork chop, and cracklin' chicken (remember, selection will vary). Salads may be another gluten free alternative, as well. In addition, this location serves brunch Thursday-Saturday, and offers gluten free friendly egg selections. Finally! The owner created a gluten free friendly batter for fried chicken, onion rings, fish and chips and they also have a variety of other great selections. Great dining experience and one of the top places to eat in Houston. Also carry gluten free beer, Estrella. I believe the owner discovered that he is a celiac as well.
