Fantastic gluten free dining in Charleston, SC,

This restaurant not only has a great reputation in Charleston, but it has a great reputation with gluten free diners in the town. They have a wonderful and extensive Gluten Free Menu, which, strangely, was visible on their website a couple weeks ago when I booked a reservation, but is not readily accessible on the site now. However, ask for it when you arrive. You will not be disappointed. They have many appetizers that are gluten free, as well as salads. Best of all, all entrees on the "regular" menu are gluten free except for the ravioli. I ordered the King Salmon served with purple potatoes, steamed spinach, bacon, and grilled peaches. It was outstanding. I started with a great salad comprised of chillled lobster and crab over bibb lettuce and asparagus cream, topped off with caviar and lemon vinaigrette. Be sure to make a reservation, and request one of the adorable banquette tables overlooking the main part of the restaurant. We lucked out and got seated at one of these. The owners of this restaurant own a handful of others in Charleston, including S.N.O.B., which we dined at the next day for brunch (reviewed here on the site, too).

High Cotton in Charleston serves Lowcountry-style fare for dinner, made of fresh meats, game, seafood, and produce. In addition to the regular foods, a gluten free menu offers several dishes to choose from. Steamed local clams, oysters on the half-shell, apple prosciutto salad, and caramelized onion soup represent most of the gluten free options. When ordering, be sure to inform the server if you are following a medically necessary gluten free diet. The menu is available here:
