Some members of the family that owns this place are gluten free, so they are aware about avoiding cross contamination and preparing things safely for Celiacs. We tried their gluten free pasta, pizza, and subs. All are good. This place is on the outskirts of Gettysburg. Convenient if you're passing through or staying in town. Very casual order-at-counter format.

We visited Gettysburg for a weekend and chose to eat here our first night in town, based on a recommendation on this website. Deliso is a very casual restaurant just outside the downtown area. You order at the counter and then they bring your food to your table. The woman taking our order, Gabriella, couldn't have been friendlier. She is a member of the family that owns the restaurant. She herself -- and at least one of her parents, I think -- is gluten free. They really hustle in the restaurant, and they know gluten free very well. There were a lot of other gluten free diners there, judging from the conversations we overheard. Our family ordered a range of items from the menu, giving us a chance to sample many gluten free items. Our son ordered gluten free pasta (Schar pasta, cooked correctly), I ordered a gluten free footlong chicken cheesesteak on a GF Schar sub roll, and my husband ordered a gluten free pizza (which comes in both 10" and 12" sizes). The pasta came with salad, too. Everything was good. I especially enjoyed the opportunity to have a gluten free cheesesteak -- that is hard to find. Not too many restaurants stock GF sub rolls, and apparently Schar's are dairy free as well as gluten free. They serve wine and Redbridge beer, which is a nice treat to enjoy with your pizza, past, or sub. They sometimes have gluten free tiramisu, too, but they did not have it the night we were there (too bad!). If you are able to plan in advance, you can call ahead and order it as a special order. We chose to go to Mr. G's Ice Cream in town instead, and boy, was that a treat! I've reviewed that on this site as well.

Here's a local pizzeria that is aware of cross contamination issues and addresses them appropriately. They have pasta dishes, too and I really enjoy their stuffed shells. It comes with a salad. We go there as often as we can and haven't been disappointed yet!

The owner of Mom's Coffee Pot in Gettysburg recommended Deliso Pizza and I am so glad she did. It is a casual place about a mile outside of downtown Gettysburg. There are several celiacs in the family who run this restaurant and they are aware of cross-contamination issues. The food is very reasonable priced and made to order. I had the baked zitti (made with Shar's pasta) and it was delicious! It was a generous amount of food and came with a salad. It was such a treat to go to a small family place like this and feel comfortable eating the food. In addition to pasta, they also serve gluten-free pizza, sandwiches, and Redbridge. I would have liked to have tried some of the other dishes but I only had one meal there. My family ate the non-gluten-free pizza and said they also enjoyed their meal. We split the gluten-free tiramisu for dessert. The tiramisu is imported from Italy and comes in individual cups. It was good and it was nice to have dessert along with the meal. I highly recommend this place for your next trip to Gettysburg!
