100% gluten free food. Beautiful upscale restaurant in the heart of Asheville, NC. Food was amazing, even (especially) for my non-celiac companions. They get it now--what gluten free dining can/should be. Appetizer: lobster Mac and cheese, made with gnocchi. Real food, just delicious and with no worries of CC or non GF ingredients, it was heaven. Prices more than reasonable. Chef and owner came to table twice to acknowledge we had traveled 400 miles out of the way to patronize Posana. Chef has at least one celiac in the family. We plan to go back yet this year. I have dined at 100% gluten free restaurants in Austin, TX , Chicago, and Sarasota---- and while I totally appreciate their efforts, Posana is unbeatable for menu diversity, quality, price, atmosphere, and peace of mind. It deserves 6 palms.

Someone pinch me! It's literally a dream come true! I came here on the recommendation of our buddy Casey at Pairdd.com (gluten-free meals delivered to your door in Wisconsin!) whose sister lives in the area and highly recommended it. I mentioned to the waiter that I was gluten free and he said "Well you couldn't have picked a better place to be... our kitchen and menu are 100% gluten free - you can eat EVERYTHING on the menu!" What!?!? YES! The chef's wife and kid have to eat gluten free so he wanted to make sure they could eat ANYTHING at his restaurant! How sweet is that? The only thing that has gluten in this place is some of their beer on tap! Ohhhhh... and the food was SOOOOOO good.... I had to keep asking "are you suuuuuure this is gluten free???" And we NEVER go to the same place twice on a trip when we're eating out (except Snooze, an A.M. Eatery in Denver - BEST gluten free pancakes, and breakfast in general, EVER!) but they did serve brunch as well so we were back 12 hours later for breakfast! Homemade gluten-free biscuit weighed at least 3 pounds but when you bite into it, it's flaky and light! So good! And the gluten-free pancakes were divine! Certified Gluten Free, "made from scratch" restaurant in the best place to visit. Delicious food...especially their mac & cheese :-)
Open 9am-11pm for B, L, D, drinks and desserts.
They also have a full bar & patio seating overlooking Pack's Square Park. There are many other restaurants in Asheville, NC participating in Gluten Free menus...It's a "foodie town" that really cares.

Having Celiac Disease, I am always looking for gluten free menus - but a gluten free restaurant is a dream come true. The food was the best ever - and I lived in NYC for over 25 years before moving to Florida. Atmosphere was also terrific - I felt like I was back in NYC. Can't say enough good things - and reasonably priced. If you are on a gluten free diet - it's worth going to Asheville just for this restaurant!

Wonder of wonders, a 100% Gluten Free restaurant! We were so excited to find this cafe on this web-site before flying to Asheville to visit family. We made our dinner party at Posana Cafe as one of our "events." Our daughter, who has Celiac, was on her way back to college, this was the high light of her trip. To be able to go into a restaurant and pick "ANYTHING" off the menu, a new experience for her. She was beside herself with Joy! But not just picking anything, the food was amazing to everyone in our party of 5. Our daughter had the appetizer of Tempura Veggies, she hadn't had any deep fried foods in quite a long time. They were excellent. Next she had an entree of Crab Cakes, wow again. And then she finished off the evening with a dessert that was to-die-for. Layers of chocolate cake, vanilla ice cream, raspberries and chocolate mousse. The rest of us had delicious dinners as well. If you didn't know it was Gluten Free food, you wouldn't be able to tell. The menu doesn't tell you, I even e-mailed the cafe before arriving in Asheville to see if they had a separate menu for gluten free. They promptly responded that the "whole" menu was gluten free. I don't think they advertise themselves as gluten free, they just make really darn good food without gluten...way to go, you guys! Lovely decor, wonderful location in the heart of Asheville's downtown. We had fun walking around and photographing the area before and after our meal. The only complaint I would have is it is a noisy place. They would do well with some kind of muffling in the interior. We couldn't really hear each other at our table, (elderly family with us) and there was a noisy group at a nearby table. But KUDOS to the owners for going out into the marketplace with a 100% Gluten Free restaurant that is a quality place.

This is the most amazing place on the planet! You would never in a million years guess this restaurant is 100% gluten free. How lucky are we to have Peter Pollay who trained at the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) and Martha Pollay a fellow Celiac put their minds together to create a space (that is so much more than just a restaurant) that serves probably the most delicious food in all of Asheville. Just because I can't have gluten doesn't mean all my friends go without. And, let me mention that this is their favorite restaurant too! Everyone is happy! I can eat without fear, without doubt and completely relax and enjoy eating out! The atmosphere is amazing! Sometimes we sit outside on the patio which is set back from the street and people watch. Other times we dine inside. Last Friday my husband and I sat in the lounge area set in front of these amazingly huge windows. It was so beautiful. We each enjoyed a glass of organic wine and ate dinner right there. I've never been much of a beer drinker, but they offer what seems like a huge selection of GF beers. In addition to breakfast and lunch I guess I have to mention how much we love their breakfast too! We've only been able to make it to Sunday brunch once but I just about died and went to heaven when I tasted the french toast. Simply amazing. And to top it all off they serve phenomenal cappuccinos and lattes with a biscotti on the side. There is so much thought and care put into every detail. We visit asheville a lot in the summer. Posana cafe makes me wish I lived there all year. There are about a million reasons to visit Asheville but Posana Cafe just put it at the top of my list of favorite destinations!
