We were only in Saratoga Springs for one night, en route to Lake Placid. However, we had a very memorable meal at Circus Cafe, a restaurant right in the heart of the main restaurant and shopping area of Saratoga Springs (Broadway) with a circus theme. They have a very extensive gluten free lunch and gluten free dinner menus, which they've offered since 2008. The dinner menu includes most of the items on their regular dinner menu. You have many choices of salads and appetizers, including antipasto and a quesadilla made with corn tortillas. Burgers and sandwiches are offered on gluten free multigrain rolls from Saratoga Gluten Free Goods. Gluten free items ordered at our table included the strip steak (probably the best we've ever had -- large, done perfectly and with a great grilled flavor) and steak and chicken fajitas (with excellent corn tortillas). Other entree items on the gluten free dinner menu include some wonderful-sounding large entree salads (including a tuna nicoise and kale salad with quinoa); Pan Roasted Salmon with jalapeƱo aioli; ahi tuna; Spicy Shrimp and Chicken Veracruz; and gluten free pasta with homemade Alfredo sauce, prosciutto, and baby peas. Both the chicken wings and sweet potato fries are listed on the gluten free menu, but have an asterisk next to them indicating they are not fried in a dedicated fryer, so those would not be a wise option for anyone with Celiac. Gluten free dessert options are many, and we essentially ordered one of each: cotton candy (a HUGE portion!), sea salt caramel gelato, and a warm chocolate lava cake (our favorite!). My husband ordered a delicious cocktail...something called the Saratoga Mule made with a gluten free ginger beer, limeade, and Tito's vodka -- all served in a cute copper cup. All in all, this is a fun restaurant with great food -- a good choice for dining with or without kids. The owners of the restaurant also own the restaurant next door -- called The Crown Grill. They also offer a gluten free menu.
