Gluten Free Communion at Presbyterian Church in Waldorf, MD,

Good Samaritan Presbyterian Church on Route 5 southeast of Waldorf, Maryland has been helping me take a Gluten Free Communion for several years. I provide Van's gluten free small crackers or Edwards gluten free small round crackers which are placed into a small plastic cup to be blessed when the blessing is done during the service. Because the wine (second one is grape juice) chalice is passed and everyone else is dipping bread into it, I always walk to the front of the circle which is near the grand piano and stand first in line. The pastor hands us our cups with the broken cracker in it and we dip it into the wine or grape juice. It is a good idea to let the pastor know that you will be taking one of the gluten free Communion crackers before the service, and he can give you further instructions. During the summer we have only one service at 10:15 am on Sunday, but during the school year we have two services. Check our website for up- to-date times and dates of services. Because I know the wine is only strained between services, I only take communion at the first service and stand first in line for being served. During the winter or school year services our early service is at 8:00 am and communion is served every Sunday at that service. It would be most helpful to come early to the service and if I am there, (ask for Marie Carter) I would be more than happy to help you. If we are gone, our pianist, Mrs. Georgia Henry, would be another very helpful person if you have trouble finding someone to help you. Communion in our church is open to anyone who would like to partake and everyone is welcome.
