Really loved this boutique hotel in the heart of Rome,

This was my second visit to Rome in 16 months. On the first visit with my family, we stayed in an apartment. However, on this visit, which was a week-long tour of Umbria with a friend, with a night in Rome before and after, we didn't need a full apartment. So we went with this hotel recommendation made by my travel agent, Ellen Morse of Gluten Free Travel-Us (she specializes in taking care of travel arrangements for gluten free travelers). This is a small boutique hotel with only 15 or 16 rooms. They also have an "annex" around the corner with more rooms, but we didn't see that. We stayed in the main hotel. The lobby is tiny...just a front desk and a couple chairs. There is no lift, but our room was only one flight up. There is a bellman to help with your luggage, so you don't need to worry about hauling heavy bags up yourself! The rooms aren't huge, but they aren't cramped, either. What I liked about this hotel was that it was clean and modern with all the necessary amenities. Free WiFi, good hair dryers, comfortable beds and nice bed linens, room for hanging clothes, a desk, private bathrooms (small but nice toiletries), and good air conditioning. The staff was also extremely polite and helpful. The breakfast, included free with our room, was also quite impressive. Because there is no lobby to speak of, breakfast is delivered to the rooms. It consisted of coffee/capuccino/tea/hot cocoa, juice, fruit or yogurt, cured meats (prosciutto or ham), cereals, and croissants and toast with Nutella spread, cream cheese, butter, etc. It was quite a bit of food...and nicely presented. If you need gluten free substitutes, which we forgot to request in advance, they can get gluten free bread or other items from a local store. (The bakery they use to supply the croissants, etc. doesn't have gluten free options.) However, the manager said that honestly the gluten free substitutes they'd be able to get from the store wouldn't be that exciting. Still, you will have plenty to eat with the yogurt, fruit, meats, juice, coffee served. The hotel was also kind enough to deliver breakfast to our room a bit earlier than they typically start serving breakfast, as we had an early plane to catch. The prices at this hotel were also quite reasonable, especially considering the IDEAL location in the heart of Rome (right near the Trevi Fountain and other tourist sites). You can't go wrong staying at this hotel.
