Liberty Inn Restaurant at Disney's Epcot Center,

Liberty Inn is a quick-service/counter service restaurant at Epcot Center's American Pavilion. They have plenty of good 'ol American choices on the menu for people following gluten-free diets. They offer hamburgers and hot dogs, both with gluten- free buns, as well as Amy's gluten-free pizza or mac-n-cheese. Our son opted for the mac-n-cheese, one of his favorite quickie meal staples at home. The kids meals come with two sides, including a choice of a gluten-free brownie or chocolate chip cookie from the French Pantry which makes excellent gluten- free baked goods, individually packaged so you never need to worry about cross-contamination. The "regular" menu is average here: burgers, barbeque pork sandwiches, roast beef and cheese sandwiches...fine for kids but there are probably more interesting places to eat among all the wonderful global cuisine available within Epcot's World Showcase of countries, and most countries have gluten-free options.

Le Cellier Steakhouse Epcot Center,

Le Cellier Steakhouse, located in the Canadian Pavilion at Epcot Center, is one of the more popular places to dine at Epcot. Reservations are required -- usually months in advance, and don't expect to get seated earlier than your reservation if you arrive early (we tried!). The food is great, however...mostly steaks, with some other meat options as well as entrees like salmon on the menu. As with most steakhouses, it's a pretty safe bet for people with Celiac. Their steaks aren't marinated, so they are all "safe." Our son ordered one with a side of mashed potatoes (very good). They brought him celery and carrot sticks as an appetizer, and he had an ice cream sundae for dessert. It would be smart for them to offer gluten-free bread as an option, since they bring regular breadsticks to the table. This isn't hard to do, as they have gluten-free rolls at some of the other Disney restaurants where we've dined. And unfortunately their famous cheese soup is NOT gluten-free since the recipe calls for beer. But all in all, a really nice restaurant (but you can still dress casually, as with almost all the Disney restaurants) that has a good range of gluten-free options and friendly, attentive service.
